Default Source for gas quick connect fitting?

I was just told by arc-zone that EL uses a water q/c for the argon connection at the machine. Anybody know where I can find them? edit: welding direct.com

I try not to be a pest over there.. ;D
Had an interesting web transaction ordering those three dollar male connector ends from welding direct... couldn't figure out why the order wouldn't go thru. Then I saw something to the effect of 'spend more $ cheapskate' on the top of the page. So I hit the 'continue shopping' button (five more times). Guess it's a $50. minimum. I got some gloves and other small stuff, a little gas flow checker, it was like a game, "are they going to accept my money this time??" Prices seemed good. Can't blame anyone for defining the kind of business they want to do, but the whole time I was wondering just how high the minimum was going to be.

Thats whack. i wouldnt do business with them. why should i keep adding junk i dont really need just to make a small purchase. if they stated the minimum order at the beginning, that is OK, but to make you incrementally add stuff until the order is accepted, thats BS. At least in an ebay auction, you know ahead of time if there is some predetermined reserve price that you have to try to hit.

They have to be a drastic improvement over the originals with the release lever reversed, and lock-nut. Stronghand Tools. Can't wait to use'em..

Are you talking about a quick disconnect for your gas line to disconnect the bottle?
I use regular air-hose disconnects on my everlast. Since i have one of the multi-process Tig-welder/Plasma Cutter models, i have to switch my gas line from argon to compressed air when i change tools. I got some good hose and spliced in the regular air-line disconnects that you can get from the hardware store. I put them in between the regulator and the welder. They work great and don't leak at all, even 5 years later.

OHH- Yeahh. They do sell them. With a little "Inconvenience":
I needed one of these Quick couplings - and one of the 7-pin connectors, in order to adapt an existing WP-17 torch to the PP256.
All in all- I was quoted something like $ 25.- on the phone, plus more than $10.- in shipping. For trivial hardware weighing below 60 grams. NO THANKS.
    That is obscene. IMHO.

I have standard compressed air fittings on all my machines. i have never had an issue with contamination or leaks. Its so much quicker than unscrewing the compression fittings on the back of my welders.

In need of nice TIG machine. drooling over PowerTig 250ex

Same here... no moisture, no leaks, no money wasted on valves and no problems.
