To apply your logic, why have any of those sub forums if we can simply search ? My purpose is to simplify... welding carts, smokers and trailers are common builds and interests. The forum would be greatly improved if they were each in their own section.

Well, "my logic" when I broke them up from ONE BIG FORUM, was thinking it would balance the interests in some welding areas OR SIMPLIFY. I then went to Mark, Oleg, etc etc and got their input and that is what we came up with. We felt it covered a good balance of welding areas. It took days to break it all up too.

So basically the idea you have is good, but singling out an item, like a welding cart or a grill. That might be too much detail. And it would be hours of work to move the old threads too.

Since this is a welding forum and not a off-road forum, maybe there is room for a "My first welding cart" or "My first welding project" forum, not sure. But anything more can be a lot of work.

Also, consider we must then deal with the next group, press builders, brake builders, gun smiths, sword makers. Maybe a tools area and carts can go in there?

Just sharing my thoughts, not intended to be argumentive... I appreciate your hard work.

I did not take it in a bad way.

People have a lot of great ideas here, but we are only so big and have so much time. And sometimes these changes could never end

I do like adding a "tools" sub forum (but it would be a pain to move all the old tools threads over there; brakes, presses, hand tools, Tom's cool stuff, welding carts). And then, were do grills and smokers go? See what I mean. Though Mark might classify them as a tool.

Maybe "My first welding projects"? We are not opposed to a new sub or two, as "Custom Fabs" is basically, if it fits nowhere else put it here. And I would need a re-cruit to help move the stuff. I know Mark and Ray are buried as well as myself.

Other option, add new subs and leave the old stuff, but then others miss out of carts and grills. Running a forum can be work.
