I plug the pedal in on 2T, and the pedal AMP control (Which is what you use since the panel is disabled) only has a "range" based on the digital display of 3-25 amps.
This isn't correct, but when I Turn the Pedal amp control all the way up it will rip.
When I back it down a few notches it loses all its luster.
It seems the Pedal Amp control isn't linear and I can't set the working amp via the Panel.
How do I know the exact amps I need if it doesn't display?
Unfortunately that is the one big downside to the 200DX. From my experience you just have to wing it on the pot position till you happen to hit on an amperage that is within the range that you can comfortably control with the pedal. I've made due with it for the time being, but it is also a big enough annoyance to make me keep my eyes open for a different welder too.
