Default Mystery Welder Revealed: 2012 DIGITAL POWERTIG 210EXT TIG/STICK welder

Guys we were thinking about keep things under wraps a little longer. But as things would have it, we just couldn't wait...(Like kids waiting for Christmas ourselves a little bit maybe.) Really, with the success so far of the 250EXT, we felt things were right for an early sneak peak of this unit. Final specs are being ironed out. But we have decided to offer it at an introductory price of 1799.00 to get things kicked off. Yes, we'll take orders...so if you wait around, the first shipment may be sold before it arrives...but if you order early, well, we can work to increase our initial order. The welder has as of now 35% duty cycle at 200 amps. And it WILL have a thumb amp control on the torch as well as an OPTION. In reality the 200 EXT referred to in the contest is the new 210 EXT. We wanted to undersell it, and surprise you, but now....Surprise! 10 extra amps will solidly get you into that 1/4" aluminum range with a little breathing room.

And for stick operation, this is our most advanced yet with digital hot start set capability as well as a voltage reduction function.

    So, here it is:

Looks good much smaller then 250ext. Does it include pedal or torch control only? Can we use the 40% from prior contest? Any idea of date it will be in stock?

    67cuda,

It includes standard, a new pedal and 2T/4T remote torch control features. The adjustable amp control on the torch handle is a separate order (for now)...Its an either-or, one at a time set-up. You cannot use both at the same time. However, I believe the 2T/4T function is available as well on the finger amptrol torch. If you have a pedal, it will not preclude you from using a finger control torch..the unit sees no difference, and recognizes it the same as a foot pedal.

Wow, amazing. Will there ever be just an arc welder with the settable hot starts and arc force control? Cause that could prolly be pretty nice to have on there.

    GWD,
Not listed yet. Sorry. We are working on it, but it takes a while to build up new pages, and add in all the specs. I will have the new PA manual up shortly though..hopefully by this weekend.

    Sean,
It's late tonight, but I will say this. The 210 offers more, especially for running on your generator. It does only have a 35% (as of now..hoping for more with a couple of minor changes to venting) duty cycle at 210 amps. It has all of pre/post, up/down, start/end features of the EX and 256. It also has wave form control additionally. It also has improved stick functions with hot start ajustability. It has 2t4t with an available torch amp control (optional). Memory as well.

I like the curves that the design has added to it. I think the darker handle matches the unit better also. Are all the settings digital rather than guessing on the knobs like the 256?

The Duty Cycle is now at 40% and in order to do this there has been a slight modification to the mold design for the front plastic bezel.
