I think they are letting Jody do the work on that front. He's got that whole series on the 250EX. http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/...-settings.html
But dude, even Miller knows that's what sells welders.

No, Jody does his own thing.
We are doing ours.
We will be adding more. We have more irons in the fire than videos, but its becoming priority.
But the music stays...according to the demographics from youtube, people must think that is the high point. (just kidding...but it is interesting). Perhaps a little classical or country? People expect more than a cold opening with these. I have had just the opposite suggestions as well about the music...saying you need to amp it up.

How does that work for royalties- I'm guessing a commercial concern can't just get an mp3 file off the internet and tack in onto a video. Wedding videographers (background music on the video) and shopping malls (piped-in music to open our wallets) have to pay to play. Does classical music, composer long dead with unclear family ties, get around that little speed bump?

Well I use Corel Video Studio ProX3 (hoping to upgrade to 4 soon). You can buy it with a neat bundle of royalty free music already attached. Its a good video editor, though a little quirky. Its definitely not for a beginner...though I am just above the beginner level. It has a lot more things I can do with it that I haven't tapped into. The music has a feature that is called "smart" or something like that that automatically trims your music and recomposes it down to the microsecond that you tell it to. Out of each song you can get at least a half dozen remixed versions as well that end up being almost completely different. Of course, they offer you more music to buy into, but the base package is pretty good, even with some classical, african and big band themes....its just that they don't go with welding.

Maybe you could rig up a tig welder or two to play a high freq intro similar to this tesla coil... it would be unique.
The sound is made only by the arc.
