Yeah, me too! It takes up too much time. I worked for a machine shop that had a manual angle notcher, they work pretty good, and are much more consistent than myself!

Oh man making those notches like that must be a pain in the ###. You should get a cheap vertical bandsaw from harbor freight and cut the notches with that. It would probably much easier than the angle grinder

Sorry time and gas run out. Good luck on your move. I was going to ask how the balance was can not wait to see the final. that is a brass ball valve? How much did a 2 1/2" valve cost there. Cost a lot here

Been moving and unpacking over the last week, and finally found some time to do a little work on my smoker. I got the outside of the cooker skinned (no doors yet), and still have some work on the fire box. I used roxul insulation it is rated up to 2,000 degrees F.
