I'll be ordering one as soon as I get the ordering form verified as to the corrected modification. I asked for an 18' cable instead of the 25' one that was in the price quote.

Welll, they don't have a specific ordering form or any way to put in an order. I guess you have to call and place the order etc, etc. Gotta think on it.
In the mean time, I got a Casio foot pedal for a musical inst like elec piano or guitar or something or other. One of the guys put up a mod someone else did to adapt it to the harbor freight 130 TIG...found the post by Parkour and his link.

Internally it has a toothed lever that engages a gear that steps up to a larger gear that turns the POT. The pedal movement is short and turns, thru gearing, the POT 7/8 rotation. The Everlast POT turns 3/4 rotation so there's plenty of room to adjust for full movement. All I have to do is make a bracket to mount the toothed lever/foot pedal to pivot on and a bracket to hold the POT and one to hold the gear shaft. The only thing is the gears turn the Casio POT counter clockwise so I'll have to flip the Pot.
The neat thing, the gears are the same pattern as a sewing machine belt so I can do a mod like acourtjester did.
(pix didn't show)
I'm gonna copy and paste this reply on the 'Anything new on foot pedal designs' where 'acourtjester' has his pix.

I'd be very interested in seeing how it comes out. It MIGHT be something we could relay to the factory, with your permission of course.

That'd be great if you can make them. The gears are probably readily available to mfgs.
Curious about the Casio POT. It has:
50KRDX2
537P
written on the back. Is that 50K, as in the rating like the everlast POT...and could it work as the POT for the foot pedal? Maybe I can wire this foot pedal to the 225 LX.

Been busy getting ready for a vacation.
Started out having trouble getting the pedal position correctly aligned with the gear assembly. Ended up just using the Casio foot pedal. Epoxied a piece of wood to screw the switch to...
Than had to swap wires cuz the gears made the rotation reverse. Tried it out today. Works smooth as silk. It makes a world of difference with a low foot pedal with a short stroke.
Total actual cost of components was about $30 (Foot pedal and POT) cuz I reused the cable and connectors from the stock pedal.
Well worth the effort. Couple things you may need to know if you want to try one. Let me know.

Jtybt,
You might also want to list the foot pedal model (if you did not, just saw this is a multi page thread and I only saw the last post) and a wiring diagram for guys that want to give it a try.
Also what model welder, as we use 22K and 47K pots depending on the model.
The 225LX is 47K so 50K will work. But a 50K in a on a 205 (22K model).. Not good.
So anyone that wants to make one should ohm pins 3 and 4 on our foot pedal plug to see what range you need.
Also, we must tell you this could void the warranty on the welder.
Just read a little more, I see I gave the wiring pinout. But worth repeating all this in a new post.

FYI: PP50, PP80, IMIG-200, IMIG-250P, 210EXT and 255EXT.
....to clarify...could void the warranty on the welder...IF the wrong value is used. There have been recent changes in a couple of models like the I tig, and soon a couple more changes in ones like the 200DX we hope. We are trying to standardize things, but it is taking time. The SCC controls won't void the warranty, IF it is matched with the right potentiometer.
