Thread: PP256 Service

    Default PP256 Service

I know this post isn't all positive but this was the most appropriate section that I found to post it in. I payed for and ordered my PP256 on Feb. 3 and I recieved it May 20. The first day I got it I fired it up right away and the first thing I tried was the plasma cutter. It seemed the plasma arc wasn't engaging just the HF arc, I could barely get through 1/8". Called support, I got right through to Ray (positive exp.) I believe and he went through everything with me and still no luck. So then he tells me I have to ship the machine out for warranty. I shipped it the following monday and haven't heard anything back about it since, the service center has had it for over a month now. I was told to contact Eric at ext. 206 and when I tried to contact him I never got through.(negative exp.) I left at least 4 messages with my name and number spoken as clearly as I could, with a repeat in there also. So after all of that still wondering where my welder is that a payed for over 5 months ago and have not gotten to use yet. My plan was to get the welder fired up and if it performed like everyong says they do then I was going to go ahead and buy a water cooler and a cart to finish the package off, now with no welder I'm kind of thinking that I just might want my money back and forget about the whole experience.

Another note (positive) I tried out the stick function and it layed down beads as smooth as I've seen.

Sorry to hear about the service. It can be hard to get through to some of the guys at everlast but you just have to stay persistent. It sounds to me like your pilot arc is lighting but the main arc isnt kicking in. I'm sure you checked the ground and all, but to me it sounds like a bad ground somewhere or air pressure problem. Did you happen to try out the TIG function at all before sending it in?

Once you do get it back, I would highly suggest you get the water cooler. It's a great price and works flawlessly with the rest of the system. For the price and the features, you can't really go wrong on these units. I did have a chip problem with mine and was playing games with the plasma but got it fixed and it's back to working great, however the problem really showed up when Tiging with the pedal and the chip that went out was the one that decoded the pedal signal. But it's fixed now and shouldn't be a problem any longer. Other than that it's been flawless. Best of luck and try getting a hold of Alex and he may be able to steer ya in the right direction

If you leave a voicemail, make sure you leave your number twice. I get calls where I can not make out the number and we do not received callerID on the calls.

I'm sure Ray had you check the points. Ground and PSI as well. If Ray had you send it in, something must have been wrong with the unit.

The ground and the air pressure were fine. Ray didn't have me check the points and I never got a chance to try out the tig. Hopefully I will be able to post some better news on here very soon.

I finally got my welder about a week ago and I have tried everything out on it this time and it seems to be working great. After all of that waiting I finally got a new machine. Thanks again to Oleg.

Good to hear you are up and running, as far as OLEG goes, he has gone the extra distance and then some to satisfy his customers, that's why all my stuff is Everlast. If you bought one Everlast product chances are you will buy another one.
