    Hi Mike
cobretti is right I do have THC300 from soundlogic

I bought the PP60C, my CNC table manufacturer said a 20:1 arc voltage was reccommended, but he also told me to hook it up to the full arc voltage, which I guess has a 100K resistor already in line.

I tried hooking it up to the 1/16 voltage divider (at his request), the torch basically just sat on top of the material and would not move unless I pressed the manual 'move' button. If I hook it up to the 'full' arc voltage, the THC will raise the torch about 1" off the material.

He told me to run a 100K resistor off the table ground (inside the machine), to the (+) side of the control box (THC), and connect the (-) main wire going to the torch.

If the CNC plug has a 100K resistor in line, why does this not already work for me?

    Thanks

Sounds like he is trying to parallel another 100K (or series, not real sure). So he wants 50K or 200K in there checking something I guess. Would have to ask to know for sure.

What CNC table do you have (and controller)?

I think he just wants a single 100K resistor, which is why I can't figure out why pins 5 and 7 won't work, as I would assume the (+) already has a 100K resistor in series. I tried running a 100K resistor in series with the wire coming out of pin 5, but that didn't seem to change anything (torch still raised up about 1" off material).

It is a Burntables CNC, www.burntables.com feel free to give them a call and ask to see if this can be resolved somehow, as you 'technical' guys may be able to figure something out better.

The number is on their site (I don't want to post his cell #), ask for Kyle.

    Thanks

Can you ask him if he was making a voltage divider with the resistor? If so, drop a 200K pot in there and tweak to the voltage he wants.

Will take a look at the site when I get some time. Looks for a CNC table myself.

Does pin 5 have a 100K resistor? I assume so, but the chinese paperwork is worthless, not sure if it is meant to read a 100K resistor can be added in series. He told me if it has a 100K resistor on the (+) wire then it should work, but I have had no luck yet. The problem COULD be in the THC itself, I am not an electrical guru with small stuff like this, if I connected a meter to pins 5/7 (on AC I guess?) what reading should I be getting while the machine is cutting to verify it is sending the proper reading?
