I think this is a hot wire or cold wire feed method. that's to say it utilizes a standard tig arc and the filler deposition is automated. Sometimes the filler itself is electrified as in mig, but I think for this process it is a cold feed method or it seems the violence of the metal transfer would disturb the shielding.
