Thread: Source for Wiring / extension cords

Default Source for Wiring / extension cords

I do not have any affiliation with these guys, but they sell wire and cable products, including heavy duty RV extension cords. I have used them as a source for thin wall cross linked polyethelyne wiring for my race bike.

That is not a bad price. At .79, figure just under $20 for 25 feet and add the plugs $20-40.

DGarnier, make sure to do your homework before running cable that long. Somewhere on here is a calculator that'll tell you what gage wire to use for extended cable distances...

the welder type only had 3 wires...I wasent sure if I needed a ground or not so I went with the 3 pole 4 wire 50amp plug...got 2 of the 3 wires pulled last night. Going to pull the last one tonight as well as hook them all up and test the new outlet

Just ran some 6-3 in my garage, it was $2.89 per ft.
6-2 was less, but I opted for the extra 'neutral' wire for possible future application, as some newer/future 220v equipment has 110v requirements also.

I am absolutley envious. I want a dedicated plug so bad for my welder, lol. Its so bad now I have a technique for pulling out the dryer plug from the back of it. Unfortunatley, money is prioritized at this moment in time.

So to run a 220 single phase (pt250ex) I could get by with just the 2 hot wires? I am having some issues getting that 3rd wire around a bend
