Some Exciting NEWS! PowerTIG 325 EXT NOW in 220V 1 and 3 phase. 480V too.

Just like it says.
We now have two versions of the 325 EXT. The new units now put out FULL amperage of 320 amps on 1 phase 220V. They will also operate as always on 220V 3 phase. We also have a 1 phase 220V/ 3 phase 460V version. I don't have all the details...will have more this weekend. But here's what I have of significance:

Will only need a 60 amp breaker for max output (54 amps or so max inrush) on 1 phase 220V. 20-250 amps on Stick. Also minimum TIG amps @ 5 A (AC and DC I believe).

Some of you guys have been waiting for it. All other ways it should be very close to the 255ext. Duty cycle should be around 35% at max output if I am thinking right.

Units are in stock...ready to ship. Those of you waiting on the 255ext may want to step up and get a good bit more power.

Sounds like a winner. Can't wait to hear more of the details.

Duncan emailed me to tell me my 325EXT is in to be pickup next week when I am in the area, look forward to getting it. Looks like that I might be in the area Monday or Tuesday if all goes well. Will give welding details next week.

Any more details? I'm guessing that if you have full amperage on single phase then you have lowered the duty cycle when running on single phase. Maybe 60% on 3 phase and 35% on single?

No duty cycle isn't changed, but if I recall, it is only 35% at 325 amps. I could be wrong. I am waiting on final specs myself...so I can make changes to the site.

That sticker only lists 3 phase specs. I am wondering if there are any limitations when running on single phase over 3 phase? I really like the duty cycle on it. 100% at just under 250 amps is fantastic. The cooling solution must be first rate. How is the fan noise? Of course when you get a new toy, work gets in the way of being able to spend much time with it. I look forward to your first impressions when you get a chance to put it through it's paces.

From what I understood that the duty cycle was the same but the draw was 39.9 Amps on 1X220V at max. 320 Amps but I will ask Duncan. The fan is the same as the 255EXT and the same noise level the water cooler makes more noise.

The new connector in the picture is a design we've been working on for some time with our "deluxe" TIG torches. It brings the gas/water line back out to the front so it doesn't interfere with other connections like the older ones did on some units.

I have done some testing of the 325EXT to what the manual says it can do AC Amps are 10-320A and DC Amps are 5-320A.
Base and Pulse Current is AC 10-250A and DC 5-250A but when I tested it I got AC 10-320A and DC 5-320A.
DC MMA is 20-250A

The 325EXT comes with the new style regulator with hose and ends on hose one WP-9 and one WP-20 Tig torches (should have been a WP-26 200A). One heavy duty ground clamp. Foot control with a grip pad on it. Spare Tig torch parts. One Electrode holder clamp type not screw type. One Instruction manual.
When you push the foot controller down and not make an arc you will get a 805 code you have to lift your foot so that the pedal switch goes off then restart, the code will clear and the arc will start.

I can live with that, as long as the code clears when you lift up the pedal. They are never going to please everyone with torch selection. I actually like this combination, but will still probably use my old standby WeldCraft WP-20. Being able to swap consumables between the two was probably one factor in the selection process. Also looking back over the forum about a lot of people wanting a lightweight air cooled torch for small jobs, and buying a 9, it makes sense to include that. I'm happy they didn't go with the 18 even though it would be a better match for the amps. I have used the same WP-20 at 300 amps for at least a decade with no problems. I just try to limit the duty when I am really pushing it hard, since it's only rated for 250A. I have a Lincoln Magnum 26 and while it does a fine job, I only drag it out when I absolutely have to. It defines the term "club" Some use those everyday as they need the power and don't want water. Everyone's ideal torch is different. Thanks for giving everyone a sneak peek at the new model, Kempy. Pretty soon you will have more green in your show than the Everlast showroom, if you don't already! ;)

Put my CK linear Hand Control on with 10K ohm Potentiometer works just fine the machine will use just about any Potentiometer I have a 25K, 47K and 10K Ohm Linear controllers and they all work. The machine must have a electronic controller that will use any type and adjust for it. When change the power the voltage from 3 phase to single phase it know and changes it self and this machine will take 3 phase 460V also the PFC must do that.

On my 255EXT I ran my WP-20 at the limit my a time but now I think when I am going to push well over 250 Amps with the 325EXT I will put my Weldcraft CS310 on it is light and flexible and I like the triangle shape handle.

That seems like a perfect match. Are you going with the switch handle? I'm not sure I would like it that big, but they also have a small handle, so I could swap it out.

I am going to order the handle with the potentiometer built in for both torches you can just buy the handle and put you old hardware in. I have been using the linear potentiometer for my years now 90% of the work I do is standing up or working inside something and the foot control is very hard to deal with.

I can see other pictures but not the ones I put on like any threads I have checked so fare see: (Thread: 30A fitted to MTS250S) or (Thread: Some Exciting NEWS! I had the same problem too then when I got to log on it was all different the post were the first to last then the next day it went back to normal but all the pictures went for a __________?

Yeah sounds about right. They moved the site over from the old one which had been done improperly. Not sure of the cause of the glitches, but we have made them aware.

I rebuild the photo indexes yesterday and it said the photos where gone. So I mailed Oleg who mailed the Web guys. I guess they put them back now since they are here now and were not yesterday.

Used the new 325EXT in single phase 240V had to welded a boat with a crack 52 inches long just a little leak.

Grind all the paint off sand blast some of it and tack welded every six inches then weld it up on pulse weld used vice grips to hold it first before tacking it.
