Every time I see that truck, I see something I didn't see before. Very detailed.
That's great. Do you machine some of the parts or "hand" fab them? I love the details.
I have a 3 in 1 (mill/drill/lathe) in my garage that I machined the wheels, tank and a few other things with.
I have always wanted to get a 3 in 1, but never had the money and opportunity line up.
That is detail for sure.
Stan, what is the brand in the 3-in-1, want to go look at it. Sounds like a hand tool I will have no room for.
I picked it up at House of Tools, they went bankrupt a few months ago. Brand name is "Force" I believe the same machine sells under different names (China made). Here's a pic.

Very nice work! You could almost do a full size vehicle in 400 hrs.
Nice set up. I have a full size mill and lathe but have thought of getting one of those to do the little parts on. My lathe is some times too big for the parts you need to make on the "end of your nose" if you know what I mean.

3 coats of gun blueing? paint or a salt bath
Thanks for the kind words. dgarnier, I used a cold bluing, getting it clean enough to get an even coat was a time consuming process to say the least. This project is a couple years old now and the bluing has held up well.
This is BEYOND impressive, when will you start the full size version since you built the scale model already? HAHA Excellent work!!!
Look's like you all like this stuff so here's an update. I've been toying with ideas for a new metal car project and remembered an old 1933? Rolls Royce model I was given years ago. It's in pretty rough shape. That was the excuse needed to pick up a 6" rotary table for the 3 in 1.

Of course, I'm doing it my way (yes at one point I was thinking of a supercharger sticking out with tubs & slicks on the back). The stock wheels are pretty boring, and part of my reason to do this is to challenge my beginner machinist skills. The car is about 15" long, the wheel rim is 2", hub about 3/4". I'm using pins for spokes, 48/wheel (24 on the inside, 24 on the outside. Here's the pics:

Got bored drilling holes, so I jumped to the frame. The original is toast but will work as a template.

I've since finished the front of the frame and patched up some of the body. I haven't snapped any recent pics, but will share once \i do.

holy cow man! that is a ton of detail! the steering works, the doors open...
does the suspension work also?

The 4 link does work but the springs are not spring steel and the shocks are solid, those pieces keep it from flexing properly.
