Now for the intro.
My name is Robert I live in Mountain Home Arkansas.
Right after high school, I went to the local VO-Tech and attended the welding class they offered. 18 mo. Later I was production welding in a plant in Little Rock Arkansas, and discovering that the last 18 mo. Hade taught me just enough to get me in trouble, because I was 18 and knew it all, DUH I just graduated from welding school and was a Rock Star Welder didn’t you know.
P.S. Besides what could a gray headed old 40 years on the job old man have to teach me? (The Rock Star)
Well it turns out a lot is what he had to teach, and after I figured out I was not a Rock Star Welder, Hell I wasn’t even a good Polka Welder. I did decide to listen to what he had to say, and yes he taught me a lot more than I thought. I even learned he had a name it was Danny.
After about 6 years of welding everything from barges, cyclones for concrete plants, structural steel, and even stainless steel fixtures for Kimberly-Clark. One day I thought I needed to know what those things I had been welding for Kimberly-Clark was. Danny said they were parts for their TAMPON machine. WOW yet another blow to my, I am a welder welding manly steel things ego.
OK let’s speed this up a little. This is about the time the company promoted me to the maintenance shop. They sent me to school at night and I worked during the day, the longest 3 years of my life. But after the PLC school, Machinists school and intro to Industrial electricity. I was glad to receive the school and this time I did not think I was a ROCK STAR and I learned a lot.
After 14 more years in the middle of the great downturn of 2008 the company went under. Now I work for myself in my home shop, and I love it. The work is good and steady.
I have a strict don’t buy it if you can’t pay for it policy which has served me well. And by the work is good and steady I don’t mean I am rich, I have 3 kids and a wife. So I am always looking for a bigger bang for my buck.
About 2 mo. ago I bought my first EVERLAST machine, a Power Plasma 50 and 75 pack of extra consumables from Duncan. And now I am most of the way through the consumables, I can say I will be calling Oleg to order more machines for my shop.
And that just about covers it all. I will be around on the forum and will be willing to help where I can.
Hey, Robert- I liked your story! It makes two very good points. The first is I need to keep my ears open when I get to thinking I'm a rock star, and the other is that it speaks very well for Everlast products when you buy them, because your income depends on it.
I would like to add my name to the qualifying list. My name is Adam and I currently have 57 posts. I was able to upload an avatar without any trouble and fill out my sig line. 60 posts? No problem!

#2 Hello, my name is John Martin and I would like to be entered into this contest. This post will be number 33 for me. Don't know if it is required, but I own a 1985 Nissan 300zx that I have been building for many years and I am very proud of. It has enabled me to make custom engine parts for these cars (z31 series 300zx) and it in turn is how I fund my race car. My goals with the car are to potentially make it into the 8 second range in the 1/4 mile and I am well on my way. I do all of my own welding/fabrication.
#3 Signature I automatically did cause I love my car
#4 I will most likely make it to 60 posts by the time that is needed.

Started out as a hobby as a kid and turned into a career ... Currently going to school to get my Engineering Degree in Welding Technologies well thats enough about me
My name is Thurmond Moore. Please enter me in the contest. I need a Tig in the worst way but Harbor Freight prices are more in line with my budget (I am not buying one from them though, I would rather be without). My post count counting this post is 1. I figure I have little chance of reaching 60 though. I have not been welding but a few weeks total accumulated time over 35 years. Now I desperately need to learn.

I have one post (had to figure out how it worked, lol)
Signature and avatar done, and as for an intro here we go:
My name is Justin and I work for a Bee Farm. We have locations in Central Pennsylvania and North Central Florida.
I live in central Pa and have been attempting to teach myself welding for a couple years now. I started here with a Lincoln MIG basically because the company had it and nobody knew how to use it well. After getting good enough on the MIG and having a need for aluminum welding i did some research and bought the Everlast TIG. So far so good but I have a long way to go.
In my "past lives" i have been a soldier, an A/V technician, a control system programmer, a corrections officer, and a high school Electronics Instructor. I gave that all up to be a Shop Manager/ Jack of all trades.
Hi,
My name is Frank. I'm a hobbiest living in central Delaware. I would love to win this contest and upgrade my equipment.
Good luck to all.
Frank,
You need to qualify by stating the number of posts, and add an avatar and signature line. Please see first post in this thread. It spells out the rules.

Hello everyone, I'm Gage. During the day, I work at a sewage treatment plant. I usually do maintenance work, but I run the place by my self on the weekend. At home, I fix things for friends. I have a nice stick welder and wire welder, but I really need to get a nice TIG welder. I have been drooling over the powertig 250 ever since I came across this site.
I would like to enter the contest. This is my 3rd post and I plan on posting a lot more.
Thanks,
Gage

Cool Contest!
Hello Everlast
Not sure were this "introduction area" is. Basically I am finding your contest rules lacking clarity.
1) registered check
2) Please enter me into this contest, post 1
3) Not sure what or why this is important. I found a section in my profile and inputted something....I guess that is what was requested.
4) I won't be spamming but don't expect high end work. My post will have to be short and quick to make 60 in 15 day or so.
Question do we indicate the post number on each post? Or was ounce enough to get this started?
Hi-
This is my 1st post, count = 0, I'm a new welder, working with MIG in AL. Very interested in the Multi-process machine.

I'm not very computer savy, so I'm quite sure I screwed something up in setting up my profile.
Waiting for my Powertig 200DX to arrive, it shipped this week.
Rewired my garage for 240V last week.
Today I picked up 80CF argon, gloves, 10# .060" alluminum, 10# .060" mild steel and some .060" ceriated tungsten
Obviously, I can't wait for the Tig unit to arrive.

Wanting to enter your contest for the greenbucks, I do not own any everlast equipment yet. I need to buy a plasma cutting machine, I have been looking at your machines. I was wondering if you have a machine that can be used for mechanized cutting. I mean both manual and mechanized, would like that option. Have been welding for some time I do mig tig and arc welding, Stainless steel, aluminum, and CRS. It would be nice to try out a new piece of equipment and a new brand, your brand looks impressive, just wondering how it works compared to the big name brand machines. well anyway I hope that this will register me for the contest and thanks for your time Joe.
Joe--new member,
You need to read the entry rules in the first post of this thread!
Hi everyone, please enter me in the contest. This is my first post, but have been registered for a few years. I would love to have a tig. Thanks, Jeff
Thanks for answering one of my questions, no one commented on the quality of the equipment or wether or no you could use as a machine power source. So if no one can tell me this then I might need to look at a different product. Thanks Joe
Joe, our NEW PowerPlasma 60C is fully CNC ready, including torch. Give me a call.
Thanks for the reply, I have a miller syncrowave 250 welder, Bridgerport milling machine, 20" vertical Band saw, 12 by 18 Horizontal band saw, and a small Lincoln 150 amp mig welder. I am trying to start a small shop and have a good start, but am wanting to get a good plasma cutter to use for hand use now, and maybe for a cnc in the future. It needs to have this option, I was reading that it may only pierce half of the rated cut capacity. Again thanks for your time Joe
Woo Hoo! Got my sixty posts! More actually but I but I spammed a spammer for three, so I didn't count any of those. Tried to make a point but either some people don't read the rules or sarcasm is wasted on the youth. Regardless I am too happy to care. I am sure the judges will disregard all obvious unnecessary spamming anyways.
Now for some carefree posting. :D
OK, I just joined the forum...and I realize that I have no hopes of getting enough posts to be a serious contender for the contest. BUT...I worked for 5 years as a MIG weldor at a plant that made frames for Ford Explorers, so I would dearly love to have a quality MIG for home use. I've got a '52 International pickup that I'm just dying to chop the top on, and a plasma cutter and a MIG would make that job virtually cake!

I'm Bill,
I'm used to do more with my hands, but have been working on computers and phones for 12 years now. I'm looking forward to building a nice little shop. I would love very much to build a nice aluminum sailboat one day.
