I've got a bid on a small open hearth gas forge; it's only a single burner unit but large enough to try my hand at making some Damascus blades. This should be fun!

Winky
If you want to download a video posted any where that is youtube just click on the icon in the video and it will open the video from youtube. You will first need to download the youtube downloader. Once you have that you cut and paste the youtube URL to the downloader and save it to your system. All free.
Had to drive to work during the last few minutes of the auction and someone out bid me ... oh well next time. I didn't know there was a youtube downloader ... I'm on it ... thanks.
Next time www.bidnip.com
I'll check it out ... I was using EBay
If you buy on ebay you need it. You only pay for the items you win and the fees are not bad. By bidding at the last second (I usually set it for 2 seconds) you avoid bidding wars. And by setting the maximum price that you are willing to pay, in advance, you don't get sucked into that, maybe just a little more attitude that is so easy to do.
http://www.jbidwatcher.com/ is another option. It is free, but your computer must be on and connected at the end of the auction for it to work. I haven't done much ebaying (other than 'buy it now' vendors) recently, but used it a few years ago and liked it a lot.
Thanks guys I won an auction yesterday on a nice set of antique black smith tongs I'm going to referb and use ... also checking into different gas forges for knife making ... directly from the manufactures there are somenice ones out there but I don't want to get stuck with something that will be a PITA to replace liners.
Yahoo ... had the winning bid last night on a Thermal Arts Design Access #2 open hearth gas forge Attachment 8396 I need to make a horn and hardie on my piece of rail so I'll have a bigger anvil. Now I can make some scrolling jigs like Ruslan showed.

Very very nice donor76. I like all the follow up pics and shop pictures.
I envy you your power hammer.
That table in the corner is awesome. Took me a minute to see how it managed to stand against the walls as the tabs are hidden well. Very nice.. I too am a little curious if there is something holding the glass to the metal to prevent the chance it would flip up with some weight set on the end with nothing in the corner. I wouldn't imagine this would happen but it is possible.
Well, you've done it again Ruslan; That is absolutely beuatiful! :D
