Zoning, we ain't got no stinking zoning. Seriously I live in VERY rural Texas on a ranch. No permits, no zoning, no neighbors, no crime, no fast food, no local shops, nothing at all except lots of room to do anything I want without asking permission from anyone. As Red Skelton once stated about Texas "We have miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles". ;)

I miss living out there, last place I lived was on the outskirts of Wylie. I'm outside city limits here but still close enough to not be truly rural, so some services will deliver some things, some won't.
