Hey Travis , what you gettin' ? Anybody else get a tracking number ?
I haven't heard anything . Is it there yet , is it there yet ????
Guys, two containers were released at the same time. Customs delayed the release, as it is their right to fully or partially inspect a shipment. These are full, long containers of product that have arrived. Some will go out today, some may not. Today is Friday. So, my guess would be that unless we can get UPS to pick up on Saturday, the rest will go out Monday or Tuesday if there is any carry over.
Thanks for the update Mark, that's good news.
That's great , enjoy your machine , but whatever you do pay at least a little attention to the old lady during the vacation or you will regret getting the machine because she will make your life a misery :D
I have the best wife shes my helper and likes to stay around the house most times
shes mostly a tool hander to me but at least shes there to help if needed
Hang on to her T , a dirty hand woman is hard to find , you should give her some helmet time , she may turn out a good metal stitcher , enjoy your vacation
Attachment 10206 Don't do that! If she likes it, you may never hold the torch again.
Update , pickup scan complete , scheduled for delivery by end of day next Tuesday , guess I need to take a two week vacation and invite Travis' oldlady over to try it on for size like Mark says , she may very well convince him to get her a bigger model ;) hey Travis any follow up on delivery ?
mine says it will be here Monday on the frist vaction day and its my birthday too
Damn T , how did Oleg know to get it to you on your Birthday , awesome man happy birthday for Monday , have fun with it , hope you get breakfast in bed too!
Have you got all your consumables and all the other bits so you can start messing with it as soon as Brown drops it at the door? Gotta have a little project to start with .
i think iam ready for stick and plasma don't have tungsten yet or argon gas but I think these tig welders should have at least a piece of tungsten so we can try it out soon lol my little project is a 1000 pound smoker I have a 7.5 ft long 3/8 in thick 24 inch pipe going to be a reverse flow smoker my plans are in my head will practice some on junk the start welding it
7.5' smoker holy smokes , all you have to do is cut off the antlers and the whole elk will go in . Just think when you off it , they can bury you in the smoker , no damn pine box for you .
Go down to the local welding supplier , most will rent you a tank of argon and pick up some 2% lanthenated tungsten and some filler rods and you will be on your way .
Sounds like you could smoke a whole cow in that thing, dang.
Things may have changed since a year+ ago, but at that time, they came with a small handful of cups and collets plus a fairly short piece of "tungsten" that wasn't the right color and is probably only suitable to test the machine with. Lots of people, myself included, prefer 2% lanth. for pretty much everything, so grab some when you get gas.
Mine is 66" by 24". Will only hold an elk or cow is cut in pieces. For me, smaller would have bee better, easier to move around. Last big one I made had a small trailer under it :)
Rocrat post up some pictures of the build. What are you using for ends? And base/wheels to move it.
This is just like when I was in grade school and the cool kids tried to get me to smoke! You may think I'm an idiot but you guys over estimate me!:O:D
The dog needs another trip to the vet, so I don't ever know if my new welder!!!:(
my smoker will have a 4ft smoke box and a 2ft fire box with a ft I will make 4 iron wheels like old wagon wheels so it will only be like 6ish ft long even with buying the plasma cutter /welder iam in to this like under half the price of a store bought one
Something like this?

That sounds perfect. Mine is a tad large, but at the time and price, it is what it is. 4' is plenty of space. I though the whole thing was smoke box, that is a party machine.
4 wheels are a must, trust me, seeing the back doc tomorrow (sucks getting old).
If you can, post up any sketches, web links or project pics so we can all get ideas for the next one. Seems if you have a welder, a grill or smoker pops up on occasion. We've repairs and built a quite a few, but probably build 5+ just for ourselves. Mark was (and probably still is) building them and selling them.
Yep, just like that one...
But was about 34 feet shorter (on the trailer) and a single axle. Oh, 15 inch rims and tires. Oh only one smoke door (and no stairs/deck to load and unload it). Oh, no multimillion dollar sponsor and no serving kitchen on the back. Also no twitter and hash tag.
But other than that, it was black and had reflective tape... hahahaha..
That is a nice one...
Hey Mike , I was just commenting on Travis' smoker , I don't have place on my boat for a smoker , just gotta build a fire pit on the beach and build the smoker outta banana leaves ,then lay back till the fish is done .
Mine showed up today. 250ex, 300 cooler, cart. No apparent damage from ups. The cardboard box was hammered but the unit seems fine. Ill pick up the rest of the stuff needed to get started on Monday and test it out. After we all posted here waiting for them I felt obligated to inform everyone that it has arrived in what appears to be good shape. Come on Monday...
4th did yours come in multiple boxes ? Following UPS one package is due for me on Tuesday and the other Wednesday so I get to play on Thursday as Brown deliver late at night here. Talking to the driver a few weeks ago ,he said his hub in Ft Myers could hire 38 drivers immediately to get the load back to normal for them , but the company don't want to do it based on the false economy our leaders have created for us . He said he starts at 9 in the morning and gets home around 1.30 am the next morning after dropping the truck back at the hub . Poor guy nobody should have to stretch safety that far because of a company . The drivers are teamsters and have all put in grievances with their union and the company and still nothing is done till a driver kills a whole bunch of school kids in a bus because he fell asleep at the wheel . He said FedEx is going the same way .
3 boxes. Cart, 250ex, 300 cooler. Omg the wheels stink on that cart. It is getting weaker. I assume its the rubber they use on the treads. Just needs more shop dirt to cover it up, brings a whole new meaning to new cart smell.
Come on Monday...
Our UPS lady is always mentioning how hard it is just to get her boss to spring for a new set of tires. I'm all for efficiency and making things last and such, but watching her come spinning up the driveway in the snow just makes you shake your head.
I thought the DOT had pretty stiff regs on how many hours a driver can put in. I wonder how they get around that.
looks like mine will be a day later its at the ups center 30 miles away its been there from late on the 4th wouldn't think they would HOLD something for 3 days before delivery oh will it is what it is
RB,
My guy says they are only supposed to run 11 hrs a day ,but usually ends up 13 or more hrs a day by the time he gets back to the hub
Zoama , the guys deserve good safety no matter how much they earn , and most of them end up with back problems in retirement ,so if they do earn $30 an hr is it worth the issues later in life , I certainly wouldn't do it ,even for $50 an hr
Trust me when I tell you UPS has it way better than most single unit truck drivers. I don't drive a truck anymore but I did for a long time and I'm still around them every day.
UPS drivers don't do anymore than the next guy, they just make 3 X the pay... at least in the southeast. They also get time and a half after 8 hours each day. $33 x 1.5 = $49.50hr
Well looks like UPS did it again. Two packages were scanned, one only 1 time (250 EX). The other, (the water cooler) multiple times. The welder was supposed to be here today. The cooler tomorrow. But a cute sounding girl behind the phone at Everlast took care of everything. And she also called it this afternoon, she said it was lost. Well atleast I will have a water cooler. Ill wax it up, fill it up, and pretend it is hooked up to the welder.
