The lack of accessories is what tips the balance to me. Your $300 is even a little light at current Everlast MSRP. If it was turnkey complete, I think the price would be ok. But obviously someone thought otherwise.

There are multiple records of sales occurring of our products listed here on this forum by several customers themselves watching sales. Maybe you haven't seen them. But they retail high. Even broken/damaged units.
You are missing several parts of the equation and don't understand the economics of it. The reason resale is consistently high, is 1) Newer prices are going up. 2) To buy a TIG welder with 250amps anywhere for 1000.00 with features is impossible warranty or not. 3) Our boards and components are not expensive and in most cases the units are relatively inexpensive to fix by comparison...even if you could find a Miller Dyasty at 1000.00, it would be broken and out of warranty and take another 1000.00-1500.00 or more to fix it. so that gets back to its still a good value in peoples minds. Even if it has an issue a couple hundred will likely fix anything that is wrong with it, and it still beats out 1700.00 for a new 250EX...or a broken or out of warranty Dynasty for 1500.00 4) What it boils down is not necessarily the cost of a new versus old welder from Everlast, it can be for a person the difference between having no welder, or having a welder...regardless of brand...
You also don't take into account the fact that the guy may already own one or more Everlasts and is picking up a spare...or may already have the equipment he needs or wants to go with it if he is already in business and was just completing the package...or that he planned to "upgrade" all these components anyway with SSC or CK products. It could have also been a parent looking to start his kid off welding and let his kid pick up the "balance". There's all sorts of reasons I can think of that aren't that strained to think up.

I'm pretty sure the original owner's accessories will fit and work with the 200DV but are they compatible with the 185DV ?

I cannot imagine why you are trying to be so confrontational. My answer does answer it...you just don't want to accept it. It's as if you don't want the welders to have much worth or value based off what you think you know and feel about the product in general. Obviously you are missing something.
You are in the position of arguing with the facts, the results as they were. I offered you an explanation, that has been turned over to me by people looking for units that are used or refurbished. I have talked to dozens if not hundreds of people over the last 5 years about this, and they all want the same thing. You can't imagine it in YOUR head, but plenty of people can and do understand. You don't understand that people wanting to TIG and are not brand loyal and don't have a TIG see spending 1000.00 as a minor risk as opposed to buying the same machine for 1600.00 or more. This is a 250EX we are talking about. You will not be buying a NEW 250EX for 1200.00 or 1400.00 or 1600.00 if that is all you have to spend. (If you find one for 1200, or 1400.00 then it is not a legitimate retailer or a new unit). Offers are usually not accepted for less than 5% of full retail value...depending upon the unit IF they are accepted. Occasionally we accept slightly more if the unit is overstocked...but that is rare these days.
Some people will buy a unit and save up 6 months before they get more money to buy extra accessories. The purchaser may have already had the accessories....Why pay more for a back up unit if you already have all the accessories you need? There are many scenarios that make this make sense. You just can't swallow the reality so you are in denial I guess...Not sure what else to call it. 200.00 is not much to you but it is to a lot of people including me...which is almost my average power bill each month. I can think of a lot of things to do with that money.... So? I get it and it doesn't work? I'm out a couple hundred dollars more to get it fixed if it is out of warranty when I can afford it, and still won't be quite the cost of a new one. But buying from a guy who seems reputable and with him having already babysat it through the "buggy" period over when things are more likely to go wrong...it does make plenty of sense.
You see a unit on a link I posted at the 50% mark of the unit when it was brand new with 3 hours to go. If it stops there, then that is still a good deal IF it were from a individual, but this is from a salvage facility. So obviously the units have value, if nothing else as a backup, spare or parts machine. This unit has no accessories either.
Beave....for what it's worth, I've shipped several unit like this economically via US mail...With their shipping, tracking and insurance, you probably can ship coast to coast for the guy for 60.00 or so...just guessing from my experience.

That machine Sold 611.00...on a weekday. Not bad for a salvage store as an unknown, untested unit without any accessories. that sold for a little over 1000.00 to 1100 new.
