I have PowerTig 250EX 2013 and I use it 4 or 5 times a week mostly welding aluminum just did a intake turbo manifold I made last year and had to put in some water injectors holders in to help get exhaust temperature down. I got the welder four months ago and it work very well.

Its in a hobbyist setting with light to heavy use and 3 to 4 days per week depending on the project.
Was looking at the 200 but I think you guys might have me leaning towards the 250 ex now...sounds like it would handle the thicker stuff a bit better. Has anybody had any hickups or a loud pop out of one of these?
It's rare from what I see. Some of the old machines had a chip to fail sometimes but that was a minor thing. The new ones are well sorted... the 250ex will make you happy.Quote:
