While reviewing the specs of the carious Tig machine with our shop manager, the question of power ratings came up. Most of the machines we have that are AC/DC have different power / duty cycle ratings for AC and DC. We noticed that only one power rating is given for the Everlast machines, although they are rated differently for GTAW and SMAW. Is this a factor of the Constant Current machine running at different voltages for tig and stick welding?
Are the AC and DC current and Duty Cycle ratings the same for GTAW?
Does anyone have any information relating to Pre-Flow on a 200DX or the AC va DC GTAW amps and duty cycle being the same or different?

I'll be glad to go over a couple things, but first, if you are in the contest, a friendly caution. Please confine your posts to a single post if no reply has been made. This isn't what we had in mind....it borders on spamming. We made it pretty clear about this, and ask people police themselves. Our units are 60% duty cycle on DC or AC. However, extreme settings on the AC toward positive will cut down some on the duty cycle. Normal or minimal settings won't change it.
The DX does not have a preflow control. So it is No to that. But it does have a fixed preflow at .3 seconds. So that is a yes. That may be where the confusion is coming from.

Thanks mark. The confusion was mostly due to the PT185 showing that it had the pre-flow fixed at .5 seconds and the DX200 simply showing "NO" in the table showing the spec comparison of each machine. Table at bottom here: http://www.everlastgenerators.com/Po...DX-351-pd.html
If asking multiple questions or a certain posting style isn't acceptable for the "contest" then feel free to remove my eligibility as you see fit. The contest isn't why I am asking questions and comments anyway as my questions are to better determine machine suitability fill in the blanks in the specs provided on the website. On other forums, I normally like to see people post detailed questions and answers so that other users can find the info in a search rather than reposting. I didn't see the info in a search so I posted.
If I do buy a machine and it lives up to the specs, there are certainly others who will follow suit, regardless of the non-Made in USA status, be they co-workers or fellow racers that I race with or that see the welder at the track. Our shop manager for example bought a "Blue" small gtaw machine and took it with him on a mission trip to Haiti last year to teach the locals how to weld. He left the machine there when he left. Had there been very cheap, but robust, options, perhaps he could have left 5 machines there for the same cost.

I can see where one may get confused...there is an inconsistency that we can address. It should probably read, Fixed: .3 seconds or something like that. The .3/.5 seconds is a "projection". Slight differences do exist from unit to unit since this circuit depends some resistors I think. Regardless, it is usually plenty stabilize the flow before the arc starts.
The "current" 315 is an "intermediate" model in our transition to the new 315 LX...soon to be announced. Its got some serious power, but keep in mind it is 3 phase.
