New to Everlast Welders
Hi everyone I'm new to GTAW but not to welding. I was a 3g certified mig welder for structural steel up until last year when I got laid off. I decided to go back to school for Information Technology but have always wanted to learn to Tig weld. I picked up a Everlast PowerTig 250ex for a great deal. I can weld mild steel and stainless without a hitch now (much easier than my friends Syncrowave) and can run passes on aluminum. I have learned alot in the few weeks that I have been playing with it. I have plans of building a welding cart to gain more experience welding and would like to start fabricating my own turbo manifold for my Mitsubishi Evolution.

Hi Drifter,
Welcome to the forums. Your in the same boat as a lot of here as far as just learning to TIG. Ive had my 250EX for about two months now. Post up your projects as you build them. We all like photos here! :)

Welcome to Everlast and welcome to the IT world too. It's currently the #1 hiring profession in the U.S. today. I've been doing IT work for 35 years now and it's only thrown me a dozen times or so.. It's a roller coaster for sure but one helluva 8 second ride.

Thanks sschefer, I have always been interested in the inner workings of computers, networks and programming. I find it fun and challenging compared to most jobs that I could be going to school for.
