i've gotten to the point where my chop saw is getting kinda useless on some cuts. and the only other way to cut was turning my amps all the way up and using some old 6013 electrodes. it stats that the 200 is recomended for carbon arc cutting but what about the 160? using the 15' 40a torch?
You can give it a try, just keep in mind the duty cycle of the machine. How thick is the material?Quote:

i do own a power arc 160 ordered a 200 but were out of stock so i settle for the 160 im trying to buy up from stick-tig-plasma-mig then i'll have everything covered. bits a pieces. if it ever came down to haveing to buy another brand im sticking with everlast or hobart but everlast over all unless i found a dirt cheap price on a linc,miller, essab, etcQuote:

Have not been on ih8mud in some time. I left a post or two helping a guy with a welding or cutting issue and a Charles### was all over me that I was there to sell welders or something.
I personally own a couple trucks, in fact, I and might pickup a 95 (351) Bronco today with 38's on it. But the Charles guy turned me off the place and I stopped reading there. The owner and a Spike guy backed me up. But that was some time ago. I told the owner of the forum we might want to be a vendor when I created my account and he was all good.
Far as the plasma, when you get one, you'll wonder what you did without one. Great tool, I "drill" no holes over 1/4" anymore, it's very fast too.
