Power Plasma 50

Went up and met Duncan and Jean at their shop ( Ontario Canada ) and test drove a PP50 . Took it home on the spot. Cut some 3/16 and piece of 1/2 very nice cut, smooth clean, narrow kerf and a very small amount of slag on the backside of the cut. It fell off just touching it.

Fit and finish of the machine is very good. The only problem with assembly of the unit is the mount for the included water trap. Will build one that is a little easier to install. Clearance for the machine screws is far to tight.

Ran it a bit today on various metal thicknesses and the machine is quite forgiving. It will give a great cut over a variety of settings both amperage and air. on lower amperage excessive air was causing the arc to cut in and out. Turned the air down a bit and it was back to great cuts.

Over the next few weeks after a little more time using this unit I will give another report. As of right now it looks like I have a winner.

Have used the machine for a week now and have nothing but GOOD things to say about it. Have cut extruded aluminum , Sheet metal ( al, ss , carbon ). Regular steel from 22 gauge up to 1/2"

Several people have been over while I am using the machine and all are interested in purchasing a unit after seeing how well it performs.

Just had some one come over to look at my M200 mig. He asked about my PP50so I gave him a demo on some 16 gauge and then a piece of 1/2 X 2 flat stock. He called me yesterday and said he ordered one from Duncan and Jean.:)

Good to hear your enjoying the Plasma Cutter. Was that Sid who called you? we had a few calls last week along the same lines with Customers trying out there Buddy,s units and then calling us to order them.
I still think your Buddy that came with you should seriously consider the ITIG200 DC Welder it really is a nice little unit. and if he has no plans for welding Aluminum then it would be perfect for him.

Yes it was Sid. Have had 5 different people last week ask about the machine and everyone saying that machine is -------g Awesome!

The fella that came up with me is waiting for me to spend a few more $ I will work on him a bit more :rolleyes: He will leave with one before I am finished !
