I'm just saying....
He's funny and to the point as usual. Another great video.
Wish he would have shown the front panel to help people with starting points on steel (though it did say where he had the settings).
He also said what I tell people all the time, no lift or spot on the Power Pro, but I would never use them.
I just watched his video as well, another good objective video by Jody. I want to see the rest of the series as soon as he gets them up..
Also Haaaa did anyone catch a "as bad as a dog passing a peach pit"
He does come up with good ones.
I also just go the money in to get my 256 as well going to be picking it up as soon as I get the time to go get it..Have a few jobs that I need to finish and it sucks because I have the cash in my pocket just dont have the welder in my shop...Arrrgh
I posted before that I started with a small miller but really after all of the searching for teaching videos I have learned the most from tips and tricks dot com. To me anyway just the basics and down to earth teaching for an everyday welder..in a language that I can understand without reading charts and learning metalergy before you strike a bead.
And I will be upgrading to a smaller torch as well later on because the # 17 that came with my miller is the same size as what comes with the everlast but at least I have the option with everlast the Miller Diversion has to be sent to a Miller shop to be changed or it voids the warranty. It is big and harder to control a large format torch .

I just wanted to verify what I thought you said. Is it true that you have to send the Miller Diversion 165 back to Miller to change the torch???
The reason I ask is this. I am new to TIG welding and got interested in it for doing aluminum welding. The Miller Diversion was priced within my range and seemed to fit the bill for up to 3/16".
Then I started looking around and found Welding tips and tricks and found that several people thought well of the Chinese machines. Then search some more and found Everlast. So now I am trying to decide if the PowerPro256 is the machine I want. I sure could use the plasma cutting features in my shop. It would help me tremendously. But I'm still a little concerned about reliability.
But if you can't do something simple yourself like change a torch on the Miller, then that is another strike against it.

Sorry I didnt get back sooner Joe , I just found your post. You can change the torch yourself but you have to take the cover off and go inside to change it out.It is the same as the ground wire too. Not a problem but I am not sure if that would void the warranty or not. I didnt mean to mislead you because it is a good little welder just not what I need.But you will need to check with someone at Miller about the warranty and changing out the leads.
It is the same size torch as the one on the Everlast and has the amp control on the torch as well.But it is your choice I am not going to kick Miller but it is what it is on the torch issue.

Part 3 , I had the same fix on mine and thought I would die laughing when he says , he lets the capacitors discharge because he does not want to piss his pants, man hes a funny guy.

I like his vids, definitely persuaded me to go with Everlast.
Another great video and he posted settings at the end, this will help most people get started.
Those settings apply to all our AC/DC (Power TIG and Power Pro) machines.
Note: Not everyones welds will look like that at first. If you are new to TIG, we at Everlast recommend you start on steel first. I know he makes it look easy, but that is years of experience you are watching.
