230ex problems

Hay guys was wondering if someone can shed some light on this problem ive got with my 230ex tig. When I set the amps then start welding the numbers jump all over the place on the display and the amps are not right.
The welder is 7 years old and has had only maybe 20 hours use. Using the foot peddle doesnt seem to change the amps only start the arc.

What process? If TIG, then pulse may be on. If it isn't then you may have the wrong setting on your 2T/4T selector. Set to 2T for foot pedal use. Also foot pedal could be bad.
