single wheeled trailer

PowerMaster 205 is my first introduction to electric welding. Wanted to be able to weld aluminum for some time now as in the past I have only had and ocy/ace set up. Mostly for small projects as a hobby.
Pictures attached show the start of a trailer I want to pull behind my dirt bike. It will be fashioned after the "BOB" trailers that are popular for pedal bikes. I want this trailer to be able to pull my kayak down to the lake not to far from my home and also have it so I can shorten its length and use it out on the trail for trail maintenance and transporting things mostly off road. I live in a rural setting so not worried about the licensing and all of that.

First pic shows the main frame work of trailer in its kayak towing mode.
Second pic shows the tubing I made out of aluminum angle and flat bar that will be the forks holding the wheel in place. Got a very nice bmx wheel that is nice and strong with a fairly wide tire. I will post more progress pics as I move along with the project. Having a tuff time with fillet welds so I may have to go sparingly on the close up pictures.

Silly me, I was picturing a mountain bike and thinking this guy must have some legs to pull a kayak around :) Dirt bike = much easier! I like the design, some old bike forks from a mountain or dirt bike would smooth out the bumps. I've been thinking about some retractable bike wheels on the back corners of my small aluminum fishing boat to get it over some portage trails to remote lakes. Your design makes me think cradle maybe?
