My new to me 225LX is equipped with a WP-18 water cooled torch. I well be welding very small parts and anticipate using it for under a minute at a time. Well I be OK without a cooler pump? Should I get a air cooled torch? Thanks.

My personal experience, though the specs I think are 160 amps without a cooler. Stay under 140 amps and keep to short welds you will probably be just fine.
Just keep an eye on it, the rubber neck will get warm if you feel it with a glove on. That is normal.
Another option if you have a faucet near by, is run city/well water through it and on the ground with a couple lengths of hose and fittings. Mark and I have a post somewhere here, where we each made one for fun.
It will hold you over unit you get a cooler, might be all you need for short welds though.

Oh heck yeah, you'll be fine using it aircooled on small parts like that. Do be careful tho if ya switch over to some aluminum oh say 3/16 inch and up. With the size of the euro style 18 series torch, you can start to melt the leads, before you realize the torch is that hot, even thru light wheight gloves! Once you get water cooling going tho, you'll be hooked .... very nice!

Mike, that post gave me some ideas using a small pump and industrial radiator.
