Tig 200dv
New welder just arrived. First impressions are that it is very well made and nicely put together.
What is the correct CK torch and stubby gas lens kit for this welder?
I know it has been asked before, but will there be protective covers available for Everlast welders?
Thanks!

Depends if you want to go water cooled or gas cooled. A 20 series torch seems to e popular for water cooled, a 9 or 17 series torch for gas cooled.

Will stay with air cooled at this stage - 26 series no good?

I'm sure others will chime in. The 17 series is a popular torch, sounds like that might be the weapon of choice.

Take a look at our Nova Rotaflex 17 torches. Good as CK in my opinion...and our testing.

Will have a look at it - but don't I need one rated for 200 amps?

If most of your tig welding is done on 1/8" material or thinner then the CK 130F is a good choice. You can still go up to 160 amps or so, just not at the 100% duty cycle. They're rated at 130 amps AC and DC. I buy generic gas lenses and cups from weldingcity.com but I prefer the CK wedge collets by far over standard ones. They work great with the generic parts. 3/32 2% lanthanated tungsten will do just about everything.

Thanks for the replies. I do quite a lot on 1/4 steel, so is there a more heavy duty torch to consider?

You need a water cooled torch for that.
