New Power Mig 275s- First use findings.

Power Mig 275S,
Overall look, fit and large handle very nice. Came with rollers for 0.6, 0.8, 0.9, 1.2 and 1.6 wire. There is one more size. 2 sizes per roller. The roller system is made very well and solid. The control panel is straight forward and easy to use. The 275s has a Synergic Mig mode which automatically sets the volts for you depending on what you set the wire speed to. The Synergic Mode works very well. The settings leave a flat weld that penetrates. Now when I used the Syn Mode you have to be ready to move, the 275 lays down the wire and burns it in without hesitation, so you need to have your material ready and your proper positioning ready to roll if you want to make the whole weld without stopping. If you have a tough position to weld in or need to move slower for whatever reason I would place it on manual mode and turn down the volts some. I have not tried aluminum yet so I can't comment on the 275S's aluminum performance. Nor have I tried the stick operations. As you can see the welder does have a E6010 mode. The 275s laid down some very nice beads whether I welded 1/8 wall material or was spot welding sheetmetal. The welder has two cooling fans but is Very quiet which is nice compared to other welders and plasma cutters I have. If you like using spool guns you will have to order the 200 MTS gun. The 200N gun has a female connector as does the 275S. Overall I'm happy with my first impressions of the machine. Pictures coming.

I expect that should read 4043/5356. Lost in translation I imagine.

Thanks for the review. I'm just days away from pulling the trigger on one of these. Any cons to the machine in your honest evaluation of the machine? I do plan to weld some 3/8" steel. Hope it goes above and beyond my expectations.

Well I did pull the trigger on a 275S. Should be here around monday. Would love to hear more about your impressions, Blaze, as I will be following along.
Should look good sitting under(maybe put it above) my 200DV on my cart now that the eastwood mig is gone. Sold my old 175 mig last night so the 200DV is looking a little lonely lol

Hi all newbie to this forum here
I just received a new 275s today
My old miller 250 is sadly going out
Had it checked and the cost of a circuit board and a few other things were going to be over $1200 just for parts
with that said this 275 seems to be well built and the optional mig gun was a good decision,its a beast
Not used to running an inverter mig but I'm sure it will dial in just fine
I did have one problem though and maybe someone else has also wrote about it
When I installed a 44lb spool of Lincoln wire the rear latch cannot close on the door because of the thickness of the latch and the old fiber type spool of wire
I can remove the latch with no problem and the front one will hold it fine its just something they didn't consider in there design
So looking forward to putting this machine to work I have some 1/2" plates i'll be getting in next week to weld up

Update to my last post
Well after about a week of welding some 1/2" steel brackets about 75 lbs a piece the GREEN BEAST (275s) did great
Still haven't found the sweet spot setting yet but it didn't even get warm welding up the brackets for about 2 hours with only intermittent stops to change positions
Would like to find settings for a good starting point for some spray arc welding though
Also I think i'll be looking for a smaller mig gun so when I get the lighter thinner material jobs I can run .030 and .035 wire without using that big gun

You will find the sweet spot by adjusting the arc force/inductance setting after you complete other adjustments. Start with it at about 70-75%.

Well thought i'd update again since my last one in May
Ive been welding up some 3/8" brackets with some tight places
I've purchased a smaller K24 mig gun and it works very good much easier
to use and have had 0 problems with duty cycle timeseven running continuously
I'm still having one big problem with splatter and not the kind that's easy to remove
I've adjusted the arc force down and its gotten better and using splatter spray
helped too but still has not gone away

I have some 90/10 gas mix so might try spray transfer

anyone have suggestions please reply

I spray everything I can using 75/25 gas. Someone keeps telling me I shouldn't do that but as long as it makes solid spatter free welds I'll continue. I mix my 75/25 with pure argon to spray thinner material like this 1/8" tubing.
I'm just a hobby welder with no formal training.
