Hi new to tig welding and just got a 255 EXT I using a 3/32 1.5 LAN Tungsten and it is melting in seconds when I try to run a bead with steel. I have the setting on DC not sure what im doing wrong. AMP are set at 50 amp.Thanks

Davelee, +1 on what the guys said. It's all about the direction of the current flow on DC
The current flow actually goes from the neg. pole towards the pos. pole. That means all the
heat of the arc will flow to the work piece when you are in DCEN (DC electrode negative).
In DCEP the heat flows out of the work piece and into the tungsten. That's why, even at low amperage,
the tungsten just melts away.
