Hitch Em Up

Dueling golf cart receiver hitches. Not for towing as much as for other hitch mounted accessories, like spreaders and sprayers, etc. Factory had a drawbar type unit, but the 2" is the common standard. Pretty lightweight as far a a hitch, but more than enough to do this job. Quarter by two angle, and some quarter by 2 flat bar for the bracing. Welded up with the FrankenMIG, this time. Added a couple of shackles for tie down points for easy transporting. First one all painted and installed. Second one I still need to fit the bracing and finish up on the other cart.

FrankenMIG = Hobart transformer and inductor, Miller rectifiers, capacitors and misc bits and bobs, Harbor Freight wire feeder and case, home brewed control board and digital readouts.

We just did a simple one for an old Chevy Blazer.

Second one finished. Painting isn't so bad when the part is still hot from welding. ;)
Extra impatience made gloves required for the install, too, as it was still kinda hot to handle.

Came out real nice. Might change mine out, then I can offset higher to move trailers we are welding up. We have a 4" lift on it, but a little higher would be nice. Current hitch is 90 degree angle, hole, interchangeable ball. Not home, so not pictures.

Yup, moving trailers around can be a hassle. I used to make front mounted hitches for my trucks much like what you showed, for moving trailers, mounting a winch or vise, etc. Now I see a lot of the hitch manufactures finally offer bolt on front mounted hitches.

Yea, the guy we made that for gave us a Curt E100 (I think it was) that was a bolt on 4"x4" RV bumper after we made that for him. So we got paid and he gave us the receiver. I put it on Craigslist for cheap. If it does not sell we will weld it on something. Front of golf cart maybe.

We use a old golf cart and quad for moving things now. We used to use use 2" receivers on the fronts to move them in and out.

I'm lazy and just use a forklift to move trailers now.

Yea, a friend plasma cut a hole and drops a ball in the hole on the fork. My forklift broke and I sold it. Wish I kept it.
