I have been playing with my new 250ex and been noticing that it takes about 3/4 travel on the pedal before the arc kicks off. I am using 2% lan, 150a, 3/32 tungsten. Is this normal for an inverter machine? I checked the hf gap and set it to .035.

No, it is not normal. Do you have your start amps or something turned up? In 2T mode?You may not be getting good ground or there may be an issue with the pedal.
I will double check when I get home today and let you know. I know I was in 2t mode.
Mark, can you please post up the diagnostic procedure for the SSC pedal? I will bust out the ohm meter and check it against specs.

Does the 250EX have a pre-flow setting?
Yes. Good catch. I had overlooked that basic question. The post flow timer will delay the arc start for ever how long you have it set for...no matter how far you push the pedal.
It was the pre flow! Doh! It helps to understand the machine. Works like a champ, crisp starts and stable arc.
