I hope I'm in a somewhat correct forum for this, my question is what kind of sleeves / brand/material are you using to protect your arms while welding. Sometimes it can get hot out so wearing a long sleeve can get kind of hot an uncomfortable . I see that different companies offer sleeves to protect the skin from the arc. Which would you guys recommend.
I've just been wearing long sleeve cotton shirts, myself. Frayed cotton is a fire hazard, and synthetic fibers will melt onto your skin. I bought some sleeves some time back, and never use them.
Are you working outside? A breeze can interfere with your shielding gas and cause weld problems, so if you can set yourself up in a wind-protected spot you'll be doing yourself a favor. Some time back I started hearing tungsten making a crackling sound when a faint breeze picked up, so I moved a touch further inside the garage.Quote:

I too hate the elastic sleeves. But leather will work best. Also we have used denim long sleeves. If we are doing something short/fast, gloves are all we use, not that we are recommending that.

I think I will give those Tilman 9215 a try lws has them for 18 , I purchased a pair of tilman tig gloves 24 series I think and I really liked them.

I purchased the the Tilman 9215 sleeves and Mark, they sure are nice. Real comfortable and easy to move around in. Super easy to slip on and off and were $18 bucks local ....not bad !!

For TIG I prefer the 24 series (24AL). It's almost like you have no gloves on they are so thin. And really never been burnt threw them, TIG finger required in some cases. They were $8 a pair, up to $11 now at PraxAir.
