I was wondering if anyone that has a 160 STH Tig/Stick welder has this problem. When i try to install the tig connection into the NEG. terminal on the left,it does not fit.But it will fit in the POS. terminal on the right side.

I don't.I was just stating that it fits into POS.
Have u ever ran into this problem. This is a brand new unit right out of the box.The copper terminal is much longer the the terminal on the work clamp. It will not lock.
Not sure what is going on. Post a pic of both terminals side by side. It could be a packing error at the factory.
Which part is different on your machine, the (male) ends on the work clamp lead and the torch lead, or the (female) receptacles on the face of the machine itself? It sounds like your machine has 2 different receptacles. Can you connect the work clamp to both the POS and NEG on the machine? I just checked what I have on my 160STH and I snapped a few pics for reference. Everything is interchangeable on mine so either lead can be swapped side to side. If you need a side shot of the torch and work clamp ends, I can get that for you...I didn't even think to take that photo for some reason.
The torch lead is longer than the work clamp lead.Maybe that is the problem. Are yourhttp://youtu.be/jZirHpsSFMw's the same length.
Mine are the same length. I didn't understand why the torch would plug into the POS but not the NEG, hence the reason I thought the machine's terminals were different. Will the Work lead plug into either outlet?
Yes,it will.I measured the female terminals and there is .200 difference, plus the positive has a recessed center. So the lead for NEG male is longer, the female terminal for NEG is shorter.
Took about 1/32" off of the end of lead and all is good.
Thanks
