MTS250S weld Genie on job site

Had to weld a Genie lift that was damaged by another lift the job site superintendent said it had to fix before it could be used. Straightened the tubes with chains and using the other lift to hook to two hour done and ready for work.
Everlast was looking for pictures live working with Everlast welders this is the closes I could get using my MTS250S and Spool Gun.

What wire were you using? Did you use the synergic mode?

The 8Kw generator held up OK (that's a good brand)? What did you do the pulling with far as the chains?

I used the SYN SPOOL Mode and I was using .030 S-6 wire. It work very well, and a all the construction works asked how could you weld that with such a small welder.

We hooked the (8800 lbs. Gr100) chain on to my the truck first but it kept pulling it along the ground then we move behind the other Genie (12000lbs.) and hooked to it and used the bent Genie hydraulics to straighten it out just extended the arm and then hooked the chain on and slowly pulled it back till the rail was straight on each bent place till all was straight then welded the cracks and filled the dents. Thanks for the info. We have a smaller Genie and I know they are heavy, but they like roll too.

On the generator, people have a benchmark on the 250 machines, I was just wondering about the in-rush. People should note that is a Generac ($$), but the same power range on most generators will work fine.

On the wind, we normally take large sheets of cardboard to block the wind. Looks like you got the job done.

Should I ask how the lift got mashed in :D Someone drove into something I would guess.

Being surrounded by building the wind was like an tornado it was coming at all directions. No one new how it happen it just got damaged they keep saying so we looked around to see what hit it and we saw what happen the other bigger Genie hit it. I sent these pictures to the owner of the company they own both Genies.

The Generac generator was on sale at Princess Auto for $1400.00. It was a lot cheaper then a Honda at $3300.00.

Funny how no one ever seems to know how these things happen. When you first mentioned that the lift was damaged by another lift, this semi-famous picture came to mind.
