Help me choose compressor for PP 256SS

Hi All,

Just as the title implies I need some help to choose a compressor for my new PowerPro 256SS.
I have the S71 or S75 torch and the biggest job I need to do is to cut 3 inch diameter circles from 1/8 inch plate Aluminum.

My issue is not cost of the compressor, its the weight and noise.
I have a RV and I need to keep the weight under 80 pounds or so.
It also needs to be quiet as I will be working at RV parks/Marinas and dont want to make too much noise.
It also needs to be electric.

I was looking at the California Air Tools 10 Gallon 2HP model it puts out about 3.50 CFM at 90 psi.
This is a side job, I just need to know if this will be enough air to cut one circle, take a break, cut another circle, take a break.... and so on for a max of ten circle plates.

Just curious, what part of NJ and FL?

Very considerate to think of the neighbors- if you're working, though, is *some* noise tolerable? If you're arriving, doing a job, then leaving it seems like some associated noise would be ok. Kinda like a tree guy coming to take down a tree- some chainsaw noise is to be expected and tolerated.

Noise from a compressor,,,not an issue,,,especially in an RV park or marina,,,where most of the people are old farts like myself,,hard of hearing and wise enough to understand that stuff needs to be done...taking into account the small time that it will be running,,,anything you choose will be acceptable..

I would not go too much smaller than your CA pick. Is it belt driven? I know they (to me) tend to make less noise, or less annoying noise.

Thanks for the welcome, I live near L.B.I. and also Fort Lauderdale.
I understand some noise is tolerable and its not like I will be working at 2am. Really my main concern is weight so if the model I selected can stand up to what I need to do then Ill go for it.

Yes I wont go smaller then a 10Gal, I believe it is belt driven.

Don't go below the cfm rating of the 2hp CA pump (5.3 @ 90psi)... the storage capacity isn't as important as the proper cfm output.
