Haven't fired this up yet but I'm here to tell you that this unit is put together STOUT. Big wire with good rubber and robust connectors too. Packing was well done; heavy cardboard and foam; taped and strapped. The 220 > 110 adapter is impressive. Real impressed! I'll fire it up and get back to you.

I'm interested in hearing how this welder does too. I think I tried to find the dimensions of this welder but couldn't find them. Maybe they are around on the site somewhere now. If you get a chance, can you take some measurements? Enjoy the welder and let us know how you get along.Quote:

I bought this machine for DC Arc. It's setup for DC TIG too. It will run on 220 or 110 and can be comfortably carried with it's shoulder strap.
I ran some 7018 and 6011. Really nice start, very smooth, consistent arc. This appears to be a very stout machine; no corners cut. If the inside is put together as well as the outside this will be one hell of a machine. The PowerArc 200 had a long history of reliability and stellar performance. The ST seems to be a step up. Is the PA200ST going to replace the PA200 or just be an optional model for the US? The reason I ask is the reduction in duty cycle from 60% to 35% somewhat changes this machine.
Yes, it is going to replace the PA 200.
From the dimensions, that were given, I do remember now a conversation saying this unit would be smaller in size...and it is slightly in width but length it is longer. Old unit was 7.25 by 11.5H by 12Lfrom my recollection.
I didn't want to reduce the duty cycle, or add the ST for the same reasons but it's been done, and now there isn't anything to be done about it except accept it. It's part of an over all strategy and plan thatt will be revealed and promoted later in the future. The PA 300 is always an option for people wanting duty cycle and performance. It's supposed to actually handle 6010 better than the old one. And it's supposed be better built internally for more rugged use. I'd expect the difference in duty cycle won't affect sales as much as the addition of the lift tig function will improve it. The duty cycle is still as good as any comparable max amperage machine on the market, as far as I know.
Last I saw you could still get a PA200 on Amazon for $319.
