Experience with 17 torch and superflex cable?

Hi all,

I have a 160STH that I like, but the torch cable is a bit cumbersome. Getting a new torch with the superflex cable is a bit expensive (around $100), Im wondering if anyone has made the investment and if you think its worth it?

I think you can get them either as one piece and two piece cables. I saw something on the Net describing how their model numbers work but I can't seem to find it now. Each letter / number in the model name describes an attribute of the torch / cable.

A one piece hose can be used with an adapter that plugs into the Dinse connector on the welder and has a short gas hose that plugs into the gas outlet on the welder.

Ck 17 torch with 12 1/2 foot super flex

Picture of a male Dinse to connect 17 torch to 1/2 Dinse. The red super flex cable screws into the connector. The short black hose is the Argon hose. It may need a Everlast style quick conecter.

CK Superflex is only available as a one piece for air cooled or a three piece for water cooled.
CK DINSE adapters are available with Everlast quick connects pre-installed. See the Everlast YouTube channel for a video with all the proper part numbers.
The cable set is what determines how many hoses/cables. You can switch a two piece setup to a single by changing the cable. The connections at the torch are semi-standardized, but you will see differences from brand to brand.

You guys are over thinking this... just call Everlast sales. I would order a CK130 flex complete Attachment 10452 or even better the CK FL130 Attachment 10451
These torches are rated at 130 amps 100% duty cycle both AC and DC so I think 160 amps at 35% duty cycle should be a problem. I still use the one I got for my pp256 (sold) on my new 250EX http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...ad-on-my-PP256

Hey Zoama, it seems that some safeloc DINSE come with a short argon hose while others have a 6' hose, both with QD fittings. Do you know the portion of the part number that specifies that?

I cut the one in my pic and put the Everlast fitting on it. I talked with Sjon Delmore at CK about the proper length gas line for Everlast machines and he agreed to make them 18" but since then several people have gotten 6' ones.
I'm sure by now that Oleg has got Sjon to come up with a better suffix for everlast than the previously used "LG". In any event the gas line now comes with a qc that has a screw collar to secure it, so shortening the hose takes about 30 seconds.

You are right. Much easier to just call Everlast sales.
