Dual Voltage: Are all 185's now dual Voltage by default?
Foot Pedal: Is the pedal still an option?
Foot Pedal: What resistance is the Pot in the pedal? 22K?
Foot Pedal: Is the operation of the pedal Max Ohm = Zero Output, 0 Ohm = Max output?
Foot Pedal: Is there an SSC pedal available for the 185
Torch: What torch is included with the 185?
Torch Connections: Are the Dinse connections of the torch and ground compatible with a older 200DX (2011, old style with the additional max output pot on the pedal)
Torch / Ground: What are the lengths or each?

Answers are in the literature and the forums and the manual...perhaps that's why.

No, a pot has two terminals one goes from 0 to max, and the other max to 0
No SSC pedal
17 or 26. It has changed. Last I knew of it was 17.
The 185 is supposed to have 25 series, though some have 35.
12 ft torch. 8 ft ground.

Thinking of adding a PT185 for the convenience of 110 in parts of the shop. Does the foot control still override the panel amperage?

Does the machine have enough post flow for high amperage welds?

The manual indicates that the pedal is the type that overrides the panel control, and without the knob on the pedal, so it always has full range control. Dual voltage also gives you dual ranges for the pedal, so you can have fine control with lower power or full range. 10 seconds of post flow should handle most of what you would weld with this machine. For the few places where that might not be enough, you can always tap the pedal to get another 10 seconds before the timer runs out.

If you want more features, the new 200DX-D is a dual voltage model as well. It's listed on the Canadian website where you can get the details.

I find having a 120 volt TIG welder is incredibly handy. I've used it in all kinds of places. I recently took it into an office and welded a broken leg on a huge L shaped desk right in place. The job took maybe 15 minutes from start to finish, by myself. To empty the desk, haul it out to the shop, repair it, and put it back, would have been hours and hours, and required at least two people to get it up and down the stairs.
