I'm looking at the LOTOS TIG200 200A AC/DC Aluminum Tig.

However, it does what I am looking for with little money. I really want the ability to TIG Aluminum, but most Everlast models come with a Plasma cutter - which would be really nice!
So, what's a good, comparable Everlast version? I swear, sometimes I just can't find what I'm looking for in the Products page!

But if you want a more sturdy, reliable unit, with more features, the PowerTIG 200 DX is the one to compare to with more features. If you want slightly less power than the PowerTIG 185 might be a better price point with more USEABLE features. Take a look at the warranty difference as well. Lotos is just a clearing house company for several chinese factories, with the guy selling out of his garage the last I heard a couple years ago.

From the Multi Process screen, I clicked MULTIPROCESS WELDER UNITS.
However, the Multi Purpose Units page that pulls up does not show a PowerTIG. I only see PowerUltra and PowerPro models, and nothing with the 200 DX designation.
If you are looking for a TIG welder, select TIG of course! You probably want an analog unit as well. Another ANNOYING thing about LOTOS is that they cut and paste the product text info from our website verbatim whether it fits their unit or not...and rob from other guys as well. OK, I didn't make my statement clear, then. I do not want a "UNI-TASK" machine. I get TIG projects from time to time, but not often enough to justify purchasing a dedicated TIG machine.Quote:

I would like a machine that ADDS the Aluminum TIG ability, and I like the fact that some of the Everlast machines also add the Plasma cutting features because if I have to work with Aluminum, chances are I will need to cut it, too.
Almost ALL TIG welders. by default, are stick welders, including our product line. Very few units are TIG only. True Multi process refers to the combination CC (constant current) and CV (constant Voltage) output in the same machine which TIG and stick are CC output and generally a total of 3 or more sub processes like MIG, TIG or Stick. AC and DC aren't considered a process. It's considered a mode or function. That is from something ignorant chinese marketing people started calling it when they started selling their product here without a clue (LOTOS). All DC stick welders can be used as a TIG machine with an addition of a simple gas valve tig torch. We do refer to our tig/stick/plasma as multi-process since the plasma is radically different than stick or tig function. Though it is CC output, the way it outputs is radically different than a TIG or stick function, so it falls into the multi process category, though it probably would be better (though confusing) to call it a multi-purpose machine.
