Had to weld up a small steel box. 4 corner welds. I remembered Jody's rule of 3's...30 pulses, 30% background current, and 30% on time. Worked like a charm. I'm glad Jody takes the time to put together his videos. They have helped me immensely.

He does some great videos! I keep hoping that I can get a machine with all the "bells and whistles" so I can try out some of the techniques and settings that he shows in his videos.
That website is the only reason I'm here. Jody is definitely a fantastic resource, and the only reason I heard of Everlast to begin with. Heck - I'd love it if Everlast just sent him machines to demo and post videos about. He has done some videos with the little PA140ST, which have been great to remind me that my crappy welds aren't the fault of the machine :)
I can't wait until I can afford a pulse and AC-capable TIG machine so I can really get down to business melting things. Until then, I have to stick to the 'simple' end of the spectrum from what I've learned at weldingtipsandtricks.com (which has STILL been invaluable, and is frankly the place that gave me the courage to bite the bullet and just buy a machine and start sticking things together)
All over our machines weld very well. But with a little of practice, you can lay down some nice beads and build/repair projects. Now with a heck of a lot of practice you can weld like Jody too
BTW, I doubt he is talking while welding and that is added later :D A video of him videoing would be interesting, he does great work.
I love Jody's videos, he's a great teacher and I'm sure he sells lots of Everlast welders... Mr T**, not so much, probably does more harm than good but that's just my opinion.
And what's up with Mr. Tig's weird dance he does in the intro of his videos? :)
The "cabbage patch" dance was popular in 1987... but not since.

I think any exposure from someone with their web work/background is good for Everlast. BUT I do agree, I too not big a Mr T fan either, so far.
Does he really do that?? I didn't do the cabbage patch thing even back then when I guess it was cool.
Now funny, I would pay to see Mark do that in a video (not sure how much I would pay though).... He'll be calling me tomorrow telling me he threw his back out and not tell how...
It's a short clip of him doing it in his intros. He reminds me too much of that kevin guy on YT and he made the mig and stick process look bad on the last review. I'm sure he's a great person, he just doesn't inspire confidence in his reviews.
I've tried to word these opinions so they aren't picked up by search engines.
I think the best part about his videos is that he's just "real".. Not trying to be all proper and politically correct. He seems really cool.
I like the fact that Jody takes the time to explain things about welding which the average person wouldn't think of asking in the first place. I also like how he admits that sometimes you have to do things the "wrong way" in order to get the job done.
There are so many people in the welding industry that will tell you to follow "the book" when welding, but sometimes that isn't possible. Especially when doing repair work that requires you to get into a tight area (like a "nook" or "cranny").
I couldn't believe the negative comments I read on some of Jody's first videos! Some of those people really had it out for him until they realized he actually knew what he was talking about...or maybe they got so disgusted by his video that they quit the World wide interweb altogether!:)
