Hello from upupstate ny
Hi. Well I will start by saying I worked in a pressure shop for 30 years (http://www.bolger.ca/index.html ) as a fitter/welder till my auto accident 7 years ago made me have to retire. Been going nuts the last couple years. Sooo decided to start a small shop of my own where I could work how ever much my neck will allow me.
I am looking for another mig machine and am thinking of an everlast 250P . I have always used pulse mig( when mig welding . which was 80% of the time) blue, red maroon and yellow I found that I liked essab best and miller the least.I have a weldking 251 that has worked great. :O
weldking 251
lincon 250 stick
china tig,stick,plasma
8' roperwitney brake
21" drill press
small lathe
horaz band saw
mag drill

Welcome, Steel! I looked at the Bolger site you gave, looks like quite the facility. I'm pretty sure there's regulars here using the 250P, so ask questions if you like!

A welcome from upstate, near Rochester NY.
I just noticed your intro posting here.
The best thing is to make sure to keep busy when you retire.
Let us know if you end up buying a new machine and what you think of it.

Welcome steel! I too have health getting in the way of working, so it's nice to see someone else trying to keep active (and sane!) with welding projects! It's a good feeling knowing that you can take a nap or short break if your body is telling you it isn't up to taking abuse at that particular moment, but retirement does make the time pass by slower than molasses for the most part!
I look forward to seeing some of your work on here! Ought to be able to produce some cool things with your 8' brake, drill press, lathe, and multiple welders!
That pressure shop you worked in is quite the facility indeed!

Welcome steel! Retiring can definitely set a different pace. (I can't wait until my pace changes!) Definitely please get back to us on which machine you end up buying. Those pulse mig welders look like great welders.

Welcome
I have had my 250P for about a month now, I really like it.
I am in the proses of building a cart for it.
