PA 140ST Received
Just received my new PA140ST. Hooked it up and welded some 3/32/6011. It was a supprise when the rod burned though 1/4 plate at 95 amps! It is amaizing that something the size of my grandson's lunch box has that kind of power. I noticed that the 5 foot leads are a concern on line. My unit came with 10 foot plus all copper leads. I have to go to Paxair tomorrow for an argon tank. Have argon/co2 for my wire welder but they say not to use it with tig.

Welcome to the forums, Jem5rn, glad you're liking the new machine! What kind of projects do you have in mind? Your post mentions a wire welder and you're planning a trip to Prax, so sounds like you've got other welding experience.
Just for curiosity, what's your location?

High DaveO,
I have a Lincoln Wirematic 255 thats over 17 years old. Still works like a champ. I also have a Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC thats over 40 years old. I only repaced the fan motor in all those years. Pretty good testimonial to Miller. I previously tryed out another brand of Chinese combo welder. I struck an arc and the machine shot fire out of the side and almost burned my shop down. It took me over three months to receive compensation for that welder. I tryed out Everlast as an experiment and so far they have been great. If this service continues to be this good I am going to try out their plasma cutter. Thanks for the interest.

Indeed welcome! It's good to hear a person with welding experience come on and say they like these units. Gives a lot of credibility, I think. I have the 140ST as well but have not yet explored the tig option with it. I'll get there eventually but it'll take some time and green. Keep us posted on how that goes.
