I am looking at the 250p. Is it a problem free unit? Not much info on the forum. I already have a 250ex and I like it. The 250ex I first got was a POS and it took a while to get a replacement. I dont want to do that again.

You mean a MIG? Yes, very reliable. MIGs are probably our best product overall, in performance, reliability, and features.
I use mine often with no problems. I've had it about a year and added a 20' profax gun for .035 wire.
Will it work with other brand spool guns ? Does everlast have a 250 amp spool gun ?
The spool gun comes from the same factory as the spoolmate 200 gun. Performance is similar to the Miller...though they are different Although, there are two versions of it apparently. Trafimet sells the gun under their name brand and markets it as a 300 amp Spool Gun (which will work with ours see the "Pratix" brand from Trafimet). We rate it as a 200 amp gun @ 35% duty cycle. So, it should go 250 amps but with limited duty cycle...But the point is, that welding aluminum with a spool gun like this doesn't require 250 amps to handle it.
