Did it come with a stinger for stick welding ? Attachment 8655
Depending on your setup, you may want to just buy a length of welding cable suitable for your needs and then just transfer the EL hardware over. Typically, the 10ft or so factory leads are too short for shop use unless you roll the cart to the work. It's not just EL, everybody seems to issue short(10ft) leads from the factory under the assumption you'll buy what suits your specific needs. I typically use 25ft for everything, TIG torchs included.
Short leads are cool for smaller portable machines, like the 160STH, because it generally beats carrying a bunch of copper cable and you just bring the machine to the work. S/F....Ken M
Does yours have the STICK switch and the amp knob in the center of the panel.
I have a new powertig 185 also and realized when I was unpacking it Friday that it didn't come with the holder for stick welding. I didn't buy the machine for stick welding but would be nice to have incase I ever wanted to use it. I just figured when I ordered the welder it would come with it
Again, does yours have the switch that says stick on it?
No it's optional.
It's more about the price point and our cost. We are giving more in the welder without altering the price. And you can believe our cost of manufacture has gone up with the new features and layout.
