Power Plasma 50 or 60c
Which would you recommend for dual duty hand held and hobby CNC cutting?
I was thinking that the 60c might be the way to go, but I don't see much on the Trafimet A81 torch for hand held cutting. Does anyone know where I might get one and what modification is required to get it to work with the 60c?
I like my current Supercut 50p, so I am sure that the Power Plasma 50 will meet my needs for hand held cutting. Is anyone out there using it for CNC with good results?
Thanks,
Joe

It's all about how much money you want to spend! I still have some work to do with my THC, cutter, and settings to give you a real good answer. I've seen where my 60c has made some good cuts, and then not so good because I have to learn to properly set my THC. I was going to spend Friday working on my CNC, but I got a paying job so that took priority. Are you going to buy a CNC or go the DIY route? I think the Everlast will be fine, you may have to work on some compatibility issues if you buy a CNC with THC. Torchmate has a working video with an Everlast.

I asked the question before I opted to go with the PP60c. Even though my intent is to keep it as a dedicated machine for the plasma table, I was told by one of the tech support guys that the PP60c CAN be used with a hand torch, but some sort of modification is required. I have NO idea what that entails, but knowing that it could be done in the event that it becomes a necessity is what helped make the decision. Just keep in mind that even though you will have a hand-held torch, I don't know what the diff will be with the absence of high frequency start using said torch. You may want to ask that question to someone who can answer that question.
