Bandsaw blade questions?

I have always just found the length I needed and the TPI that I wanted and bought that saw blade.

I just ordered a few more and saw this in the description: "Regular Tooth, Wavy Set, Neutral Rake"
So what does this all mean and how can different combinations of "tooth, wave or no wave and rake" help or hurt as far as general cutting?

It didn't say anything about the type of blade as far as "Regular Tooth, Wavy Set, Neutral Rake"

Really depends on the type of material. Look at a hacksaw blade as an example, when you see the ripples and look closer and see the teeth on the ripples, that's wavy, it makes a larger kerf and clears material easier. I might use this for something that expands quickly when heated, as you get a bit wider kerf and more clearance, and the waves hit alternately generating more heat. Rake angle will determine how aggressive each tooth is.

Top is a neutral rake, bottom would be negative rake, a positive rake would look more like a hook.

I think there is a typo in it, though. The alternate, and wavy set have the pictures swapped.

Regular tooth has a zero rake angle for general-purpose cutting ; the wavy set helps to prevent stripping for making thinner cuts .
The role of Regular Tooth, Wavy Set, Neutral Rake affects the type of finish and may be constant or variable .
And that makes sense. :)
