Just a few repairs/modifications to a couple of trailers.
This first one was a tilt bed that was made for a soil compactor, which I am repurposing to hold a golf cart utility vehicle. The center of gravity was not right to get the bed to drop unless the cart could drive on a little further. So I cut off the old stop, cut a couple of notches and added some wheel stops to let the cart come forward a few inches. Most all the welding was 6011 underneath and 7018 on the clean parts. I also welded on some brackets to attach some ratchet straps to tie down the cart, and a small hand winch to load the cart if it won't run.

On another trailer I'm trying something new to protect the marker lights. I cut some 3" channel at an angle and used it as a guard for the lights. I also added a new coiled connector cord, which can be unplugged and swapped out when it gets damaged. As you may have guessed the workers who pull these are not the most careful people. It's not if they will break something, it's when.

Good idea on the marker lights with the angle cut channel. I always (now) box out the tail lights too.

Nice mod on the first trailer as well. Hope no wood caught on fire.

Yeah, I like the marker light protectors, too. I also like the thought you put into the center of balance. The new wheel stops look great! Cheers

Wow. Keep it coming. These are some great ideas. I have an old camper that's been cut up and I want to convert it to a utility trailer. Needless to say those protectors could have come in handy when I backed the lights up into the fence last summer. Any more good ideas? :P

I got a set of fender I've been meaning to put on as well but they've been sitting outside for a few months and are pretty nasty now. oh well.

Looks good! I'll ditto the comments on the protectors. Quick, clean and easy, can't beat that.
