How do you tell when to change the tip and electrode.
I think this tip/electrode set is bad. Is that right, and how bad is it?

A tip is only bad when it doesn't cut right,,,just looking at a tip is somewhat misleading,,that tip could have lot's of miles left in it.Quote:

What effect does the cratering at the end of the electrode have? I normally replace mine at the same time just because they are sets, but other than discoloration, they seem to hold up much better than the tips.
