Yes its a mono-shock. I altered a swingarm from an 86 Honda 350 three-wheeler to incorparate the engine and exhaust to float seperate from the frame.
P.S. Jericho 777, the bender is a JD square. =)

how is the recoil with the added weight of the motor on the swing arm i would think it would slap around as it cycles the rear suspension
That is a cool project. Is that a 81-84 250 R engine? Do you have any video of this kart?
Does it have a gearbox and clutch or direct drive? Looks like a blast.
